Down by five in the middle innings, Central Catholic chipped away and used a four-run eighth take the lead on Lincoln-Sudbury.

But the host L-S team had a four-run eighth inning rally of its own and overturned the Raider lead, ending Central's season with a 10-7, in the Division 1 North first round.

Hamel throws all nine

Pitcher Andrew Hamel threw 124 pitches over nine innings and allowed just one run on four hits and two walks while striking out 10 batters as No. 18 Central Catholic baseball won 5-1 over No. 15 Boston Latin at Harvard Stadium in the Division 1 preliminary round.

Trabucco carries Raiders

Closing out an incredible run of success on the mound, senior Paul Trabucco shackled a hard-hitting David Prouty of Worcester squad to just five hits in Central Catholic's 8-0 shutout victory. Trabucco allowed just one run over his last 28 innings of work in helping the Raiders make the state tourney for the 21st time in the last 25 years. Leadoff hitter Tucker Schell had three singles and a walk, scoring three times in the win.

Central Catholic senior righty Paul Trabucco made his first start since the season opener, tossing a complete-game shutout in a 4-0 Central win over Dracut. Trabucco missed the last four weeks with a nerve injury in his elbow, according to Central head coach Marc Pelletier.
