Oliva Bogaczyk scored a 37.575 in the all-around to place third and help Pinkerton to a second-place finish at yesterday's New England meet, in New London, Conn.
The Astros scored a school-record 146.025 team points, narrowly missing first-place Woodstock (Conn.), who finished with 146.5 points.
Pinkerton head coach Chelsie Veilleux said, "To come this close and realize that we are one of the best teams in New England says a lot about the girls."
Courtney Thompson finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.15. She and Bogaczyk each established personal-bests on bars and in the all-around. Bogaczyk finished on the bars with a 9.65 and Thompson's 9.5 placed her third.
"Olivia and Courtney have had to fight through injuries and to finish on such a high note is pretty phenomenal," said Veilleux.
Freshman Brittany Capozzi finished fourth on the floor exercise with a 9.475. SOVA.fill('skyscraper');
