Pinkerton coach Casey Kesselring wasn't sure revenge was the right word, but there was no question his team's win yesterday was a little extra special.

One season after Londonderry shocked then-No. 2 seed Pinkerton in the Division 1 quarterfinals, the top-seeded Astros earned that revenge on their Mack Plaque rivals with a 6-3 victory over the No. 8 Lancers, once again in the Division 1 quarterfinals.

"I'm not sure a top seed can ever say revenge," said Kesselring. "But I think it felt very good for the kids to get out of there with a win."

Pinkerton advances to the Division 1 semifinal against No. 4 Trinity on Wednesday at 7:30 at the JFK Rink in Manchester.

The Astros were paced by Brendan Philippon, who scored two goals, and J.D. Dudek who added a goal and four assists. Chipping in with single goals for the Astros were Mitch Moran, Connor Brady and Dominic Corsetto.

Pinkerton was especally dangerous on the powerplay, scoring three tallies with the man advantage. Area scoring leader Zach Sanford faced stiff defense and was held without a goal, but did add two assists.

"They were all over Zach," said Kesselring. "J.D. was huge with his performance and Philippon and Corsetto, two guys that are overlooked a lot, were big."

Trinity will be no easy task for Pinkerton. The Pioneers (11-6-2 in Division 1) dealt the Astros their most recent loss, 4-1 on Jan. 28.
