North Andover clinches share of crown

North Andover boys soccer made its final season in the Cape Ann League special, clinching at least a share of the CAL Division 1 title with a 4-1 victory over Rockport last night.

"This being out last year in the CAL, winning was absolutely special," said coach Bill Tarbox. "For our team it was crucial to earn the win tonight."

The score was 1-1 heading into the final 11 minutes of play, but the Scarlet Knights struck for three goals in a matter of five minutes, with Mike Skarbelis, Alex Morin and Tim Chiang each scoring once.

North Andover faces power Masconomet tomorrow to clinch the title alone.
