NORTH ANDOVER — Twice is nice for the North Andover girls volleyball team.

After defeating North Reading last year for the first time in 10 years, the Knights turned the trick again yesterday, shutting out the Hornets, 25-16, 25-18, 25-23.

"With six sisters of past players on the team, the girls wanted team to take a win from North Reading and the kids made it happen," said North Andover coach Veronica Schaefer.

Sophomore Erin Cox led the way for the Knights with 14 assists, a pair of kills and five aces, while
Kaylee Labrinos had an excellent defensive game with 35 digs.

Also, Courtney Green and Shelly Burns had strong offensive games and Allie Mitchell came off the bench and made several key plays.

North Reading coach Mike Milone was impressed with the Knights.

"Their sophomore setter did a really nice job and they looked strong at the net," said Milone. "And they didn't let the ball hit the floor. That's a strong team."

Playing well for the Hornets were senior Sarah Murray and younger sister Emily.

"We started clicking in the third game, but we're young and looking for someone to step up and be a leader," said Milone. "I think we've got the talent."
