After being snowed out in its regular season finale against Andover, just last week, North Andover will now have its opportunity. And that opportunity will come on the state's biggest stage.
North Andover (10-4-4) kicked past Chelsea yeterday in a breeze, 9-0, sending the No. 14 Knights to Tuesday's first round meeting against the Golden Warriors (7 p.m.).
Pam Cufos scored two early goals for North Andover, who built a 3-0 lead by halftime.
"We have lost the opening round game the last two years so this was important to get this under our belts," said North Andover head coach Bud McCarthy. "We controlled the ball very well today."
Leah Chittick had two goals and two assists to lead the North Andover offense. Liv Boudreau and Mikayla Guthrie each had a goal and an assist.
North Andover's defense wasn't tested too often. But when it was, Lydia Carnevale and Carrie Mantegia each came though with strong defensive stops.
