It may have only been a first round playoff game, but Salem made its mark in a tough 3-1 volleyball victory over Timberlane.

Jackie Cone registered her 500th career kill, only the second player in the seven years that Dan Young has helmed the program to hit that plateau. Steph Long garnered her 500th dig, while sophomore Amanda Bickford was a serving machine with 15 aces while adding seven kills.

"She became a little monster at the service line," said Young. "You could see the passion in her eyes. When she serves, she wants to see her serve hit the floor."

The youthful Owls, who return all but one player next season, battled behind Cassidy Cefalo's strongest game of the season to take a one-game lead and fought hard all night.
