Blue Devil milestones

It may have only been a first round playoff game, but Salem made its mark in a tough 3-1 volleyball victory over Timberlane.

Jackie Cone registered her 500th career kill, only the second player in the seven years that Dan Young has helmed the program to hit that plateau. Steph Long garnered her 500th dig, while sophomore Amanda Bickford was a serving machine with 15 aces while adding seven kills.

Surprising Lancers

 

Londonderry's girls volleyball team, which won the Division 1 title last year, may be rebuilding in the wake of graduating every starter, but the Lancers are a solid 3-3 thius far after defeating Timberlane 3-1. Jaime King and Amanda Marett both had 10 kills for ther Lancers and Kirsten Malloy had 25 assists. Michaela Taffe had eight blocks for the Owls (3-3).

With a teammate out, Alyssa Strzykalski got the start and the birthday girl made the most of it with five kills and four blocks. She was one of the stars as Timberlane won its third straight match, a 3-0 whitewashing of Winnacunnet.
