Pinkerton's volleyball match against Exeter got off to a pretty tight start.
But midway through the first game, Jordan Young went on a streak of six straight service points including an ace. That was all the Astros needed to bust things open, streaking to a 25-13 first-game win en route to a convincing 3-0 sweep.
With momentum on its side, Pinkerton (7-1) closed out the win with some strong bench performances from a trio of juniors. Michaela Polk had six digs, Brittany Peredna contributed two kills and Jamie Metzger played strong defense.
A big game looms next for the Astros as they take on Salem Saturday.
