Mike Calzetta's complete-game win locked up the Merrimack Valley championship for Lawrence, for the second straight year.  The Lancers put away Central Catholic, 5-1 to improve to 13-1 (11-0 MVC),  Harvey  Blanco had two hits and a pair of RBIs to lead the Lawrence hitting attack.

Harvey Blanco and Michael Calzetta had two hits apiece and combined for three RBIs as Lawrence tripped Haverhill 5-1.

Mike Calzetta allowed lead off singles in the first and second innings, then slammed the door on Andover by retiring the final 18 batters.  That effort gave Lawrence a 4-0 win over Andover. Calzetta struck out six during his two-hitter.

Harvey Blanco, Dionys Quezada and Michael Calzetta had two hits and three RBIs each, bolstering the middle of Lawrence's lineup in a 20-10 thrashing of Tewksbury.

Yunior Vasquez struck out 13 and allowed just three hits as Lawrence defeated Methuen 9-1.

In a rare subpar outing by Michael Calzetta (4.2 innings, 5 earned runs, 12 hits), Lawrence still managed to get the job done. Victor Mendez fired 3.1 innings of one-hit, scoreless relief with five strikeouts as the Lancers rallied from an 8-3 deficit to beat Chelmsford 9-8. Dionys Quezada belted a two-run homer and scored the game-winner on Devin Montanez's walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth.

TEWKSBURY — The first marquee matchup of the Merrimack Valley Conference season pretty much went the way they all went last year, with Lawrence’s Michael Calzetta mowing down the competition.
