Triton, searching for first win tonight

More than a month ago, the Triton football team opened training camp hoping to carry the momentum of last year's Thanksgiving Day victory over Pentucket.

At the time, that holiday upset seemed to be a sign of two programs moving in separate directions. The Pentucket loss sealed its first losing season since 1998 | also the last time Triton beat the Sachems on Thanksgiving. The Triton victory appeared to give a young team hope for a Cape Ann League Large title this fall.

Clancy leads Newburyport past Triton

BYFIELD | Newburyport's Joe Clancy is quickly making a name for himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the Cape Ann League.

The junior field general delivered his third consecutive 100-plus yard, multiple passing touchdown performance last night, leading the Clippers to a 26-0 victory at Triton. Clancy completed 8 of 12 passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns, giving him 460 passing yards and eight touchdown passes through three games.

North Reading deals Triton second straight shutout loss

Through three quarters, behind the immense efforts of linebackers Rob West (nine tackles) and Jeff Andrews (seven stops), the Vikings throttled North Reading.
