The Triton swimming records have been changing quite frequently this winter.
After Sam Whitaker broke the school's 200 freestyle record earlier in the season, Henry O'Brien came out on Wednesday at set a new record pace in 1:56.15. That time qualified Brien for the state tournament, broke Whitaker's time (1:58.81) by over two seconds and helped the Vikings win their dual meet against Ipswich, 64-45.

Wednesday evening, the Vikings got goals from Emelia Hight, Maya Sullivan and Maddie Hillick to beat No. 13 Hanover 3-1 in their Round of 16 game. Sophia Chapman stopped two shots in goal for the Vikings (14-3-3), who will host No. 5 Swampscott in the quarterfinals Saturday at 10 a.m.

Trailing 20-15 with just under two minutes left in Friday night's season opener against Randolph, quarterback Max Ciaramitaro and the Vikings got the ball around their own 40-yard-line and started marching. The junior QB completed 5 of 8 passes on that final drive, and eventually connected with Ethan Tate on a 15-yard touchdown strike with 40 seconds left to put his team ahead.

Whittier's softball team scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to put away Triton and advance to the quarterfinals of the Division 2 North with a 14-0 record. Emily Graham fired a one-hitter, striking out nine, Alyssa Michel was 4 for 5 with a triple and three RBIs, Alicia Habib was 2 for 3 with a home run and Dani Lear was 3 for 3 with a home run.

Pentucket's Emily Rubio won the 400 hursles and the high jump ans was second in the long jump to pace her team to second place in the CAL Open. Kinneal Dickens jumped a school record 35-3 1/2 for first in the triple jump. Reese Gallant won the 100 and was on the winning 4x100 and Sabrina Campbell on the 400, was on the winning 4x100 and was second in the high jump.

It's not officially over, with the weather postponing the pole vault to Monday, but Pentucket all but wrapped up first in the D4 State Relays Saturday. With 54 points, it's six ahead of runner-up Stoneham.
Read More »Pentucket won a wild one, 47-46 over Triton. Nick Daly scored the game-winner from in close with three seconds left but Triton narrowly missed an alley-oop at the buzzer. Daly had 13 and C.J. Condon 11 for Pentucket.
