Methuen's shooting turned cold as the Rangers fell to Dracut 53-51 in the MVC Cup tournament. Andrew Lussier led the Rangers (6-5) with nine points.

Glass Eaters

Haverhill's inside game was too much as the Hillies won a 62-58 triple OT thriller at Methuen. The Rangers' Mitchell Crowe (20 points, 4 3's) hit a 3-pointer with about 10 seconds left to force OT. The OTs were all defense (59-59 after first, 55-55 after second). In the end, there was just too much Phillip Cunningham (21 points, 12 rebounds) and Junior Efosa (18 points and 13 rebounds).

Hillies in OT

Methuen's Jason Perello hit a top-of-the-key 3-pointer at the buzzer to force OT but host Haverhill pulled out the 49-46 Senior Day win in OT. Seniors Junior Efosa had 12 points and 9 rebounds and Phillip Cunningham added 11 and 10 boards despite fighting foul problems throughout. Freshman Colin Snyder had some key steals off the bench. The Rangers were without Andrew Lussier and Isaac Allen due to injury. They may be back for Friday's game.

Methuen improved to 6-1 with an 81-75 win over Chelmsford. Isaac Allen (18), Jason Perello (16), Mitchelle Crowe (14) and Andrew Lussier (13) were all in double figures.

Perello to Urena

The game was tied with about 90 seconds left but Methuen got a big three by Jaleek Urena (13 points) on a nice dish from Jason Perello. That may have been the play of the game in the Rangers' 52-46 win over Billierca. Isaac Allen led with 15 points and Andrew Lussier also hit for 13.
