Andover KOs top seed

 

Andover's boys soccer team got two goals from Zoah Silva-Landry and a single goal from Evan Arpin to upset No. 1 seed Lynn English 3-1 in Division 1 North First Round action. Andover, which entered as the No. 16 seed, outshot Lynn English and controlled the action much of the game. Lynn English ended its season at 14-1-2 while the Warriors advance to a tough 3 p.m. matchup Thursday at St. John's Prep.

Joe Atwood made 11 saves for the shutout, leading No. 16 Andover past No. 17 Haverhill 3-0 in the Division 1 North preliminary round. Anthony Previte, Allen Gao and Evan Arpin each scored a goal for the winners.

Equi the difference

Junior William Equi's first career varsity goal in the 68th minute stood up and North Andover topped Andover, 1-0. Jimmy Boyle flicked a pass over the goalie's head and Equi volleyed it in. Junior Tyler Bussell posted his seventh shutout of the fall for the 6-0-1 Knights. Jackson Berberich and Johnny Bono also starred.
