Connor Buscema led Haverhill boys volleyball in three different statistical categories, as the Hillies beat Methuen, 3-1. Buscema had eight service points, 18 digs and, along with Fritz Kleiner and Kevin Connors, tallied 14 kills to down the Rangers.

After a nail-biter went down to a decisive fifth set, the Central Catholic boys volleyball team downed Methuen and, in doing so, qualified for the state tournament. Kevin Stevenson had a big day with 19 kills and led the Raiders with two blocks.

Methuen boys volleyball improved to 6-5 after beating Billerica, 3-1, thanks in large part to eight blocks from Tyler Carrien. Hadi Majed led with 12 kills and Brian Rios had 30 assists.

Trailing two sets to none, senior captain Alex Durham and sophomore Jyles Amirault came alive at the net to lead Andover to a gritty 3-2 comeback win over Methuen. Durham finished with 19 kills and 6 blocks, and Amirault had 14 service points, 12 digs and 4 aces.

Methuen improved to 3-2 by beating Somerville, 25-15, 25-10, 25-19, for a 3-0 sweep. Senior Hadi Majed led the way with 10 kills, senior Nicolas Rosado had 22 assists and senior Yoswal Gonzalez notched five aces.
