Upset-minded Central keeps rolling

After taking out No. 5 Masconomet on Thursday, No. 12 Central Catholic volleyball earned another upset victory, 3-0, over No. 4 Woburn in the Division 1 North quarterfinals. Sarah Janco and Katie Kirsch each had eight kills, and Rachel Hyatt had 21 assists.

Dunn deal

Hallie Dunn had a monster game, leading No. 12 Central Catholic to an upset, 3-0, sweep of No. 5 Masconomet in the first round of the Division 1 North tournament. She had a team-high 15 digs, 13 service points and nine kills in the victory.

Alexis Mancha had a season-high 19 kills along with 26 assists and 13 digs as Andover held off upset-minded Central Catholic 3-2 in volleyball. Sophia Wang was also big with 28 assists, 29 service points and 13 digs for the Warriors (15-2). Hallie Dunn had nine kills and 14 service points for Central.

Junior Alexis Mancha came through in the final two games for Andover, leading the Warriors to a 25-20 win in Game 4 then a convincing 15-6 win in Game 5 to close out a win over Central Catholic. She finished with 14 assists, 16 digs and five aces.

Freshmen pitch in

 

Haverhill rallied to defeat Central Caholic 3-2 with two freshmen pitching in in their first varsity action. Jada Burdier led with 11 kills and also had 15 digs and 4 aces while freshman Shiloh Osmer added 14 digs.  Shayla Doherty had 37 assists.
