Young, Pinkerton onto semis

No. 1 Pinkerton field hockey's Lauren Lisauskas opened the flood gates with a goal, and then Carly Young scored twice to lead the Astros to a 4-0 win over No. 9 Salem in the Division 1 quarterfinals. Pinkerton will play Londonderry in the semis at Bill Ball Stadium Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Emma Davis scored a pair of goals to lead Pinkerton to a 3-0 win over Concord. Meg Michaud scored the other goal and Khaliyah Ellis made seven saves for the shutout.

Pinkerton takes top spot

In the middle of a scrum, Carly Young was able to corral the ball and find the back of the net to give Pinkerton a 2-1 overtime victory over Timberlane. The Astros improved to 10-1 with the victory,taking over the No. 1 spot in New Hampshire Division 1. The Owls fell to 8-2.

Pinkerton field hockey handed Bishop Guertin its first loss of the season, beating the Cardinals 2-0. Carly Young and Ava Dorci scored for the Astros, who improve to 9-1.

Pinkerton's field hockey team lost its first game of the season, 1-0 to Dover, which scored on a penalty stroke and had no other shots on goal. The Astros fell to 8-1.

Astros' big win

 

In a game, closer than the score indicates, Pinkerton defeated perennial field hockey power Winnacunnet, 3-0, in a battle of unbeatens. Senior captain Carly Young had a goal and an assist and sophomore Marley Mailloux had two assists. Goalie Khaliyah Ellis made eight saves for the Astros and the team defense was excellent.
