Timberlane Owls Girls Soccer '16

Near stunner

Chloe Cashin made 11 saves and the Timberlane defense was stellar, but a late scoring opportunity fell short and the upset-minded No. 9 Owls lost to top-seeded Bedford 1-0 in double overtime in the Division 1 state quarterfinals.

Rachel McAbee, Ashley Cioto and Lily Ashford all starred on defense as Timberlane nearly dealt Bedford just its second loss of the season.

Hammond lifts Owls

Emily Hammond's goal with 10 minutes left lifted Timberlane to a 1-0 win over Bishop Guertin in the first round of the Division 2 girls soccer tournament. The No. 9 seeded Owls will play at top-seeded Bedford Sunday at 7 p.m. The two teams tied 0-0 during the regular season.

Four for Flagg

Timberlane got four goals from star sophomore forward Maddie Flagg in an 8-2 win over Salem Saturday afternoon. Morgan DesRuisseaux added two goals and two assists, and Kristy Springer chipped in a goal and an assist as well.
