The streak is over

After stopping Wilmington's effective counterattacking, North Reading went to work offensively and ended the Wildcats' Cape Ann League unbeaten streak at 27 games (20-0-7), winning 3-0. Julius Dengenhardt and Tommy Dixon each scored their first varsity goals with ample help from Chris Schipelliti, the "engine" of the Hornet offense according to head coach Mark Bisognano.

After a half-hour delay due to lightning, Mother Nature finally pulled the plug on North Reading's 0-0 deadlock with Hamilton-Wenham with 19:20 left to play.
