Pinkerton drops heartbreaker

No. 7 Pinkerton nearly pulled off a upset in yesterday's quarterfinal meeting at Hollis-Brooklne - but fell just short.

Rebecca McGrath's goal midway through the second half pulled the Astros into a 1-1 tie.  But 10 minutes into the second overtime, Hollis-Brookline netted the game-winner, ending the Astros season at 9-7-2. Katherine Harris made 12 saves for Pinkerton.

Pinkerton rallies for win

Pinkerton rallied for a first-round win in the Division 1 girls soccer tournament, beating Dover 2-1.

Emily Harris and Sam Breslin netted the second-half goals for the Astros.

Elena Dauphinais broke Nashua North's back with an insurance goal just 22 seconds into the second half and Pinkerton rolled to a 6-1 decision from there. Dauphinais finished with three goals for the day, while Kasey Marraffa added a pair.
