Cape Ann League Open (at Hamilton Wenham)

 Daryl Varney set a meet record   4:22.1 - meet recordByung Cha won the 100 meters for the second straight year - 10.9 and anchored our 4x100 to a win "We almost didn't run him today because he was a little beat up.  We were 50-50 and he wanted to run today and be part of the team effort and he convinced us and the results stand for themselves."

Bernardin leaps into the record books

Andrew Bernardin tied the North Andover school record in the high jump with a 6-0 to help North Andover defeat North Reading on Wendseday. Current North Andover assistant coach Dana Burbank set the Scarlet Knights' mark in 2003.

Two qualify for state

North Reading's James Lawlor qualified for state in the 800 (2:05.8) and Jimmy Willis qualified for state in the 110 hurdles (16.6). But North Reading lost 81-64 to Wilmington in boys track and field.

Ice-breaker

North Reading defeated Amesbury for its first victory of the season led by a pair of wins from Nick Capezzuto (400 and 200). In the tri-meet, including a loss to Masconomet, James Lawlor scored 20 points for the Hornets while Jimmy Willis added 17 points, the "best performances of the day" according to head coach Paul Swaim.
