Kuhn, Pinkerton advance

Vicki Kuhn tallied five goals to lead No. 2 Pinkerton to a 20-11 win over No. 7 Manchester Central in the quarterfinals of the Division 1 tourney. Kacie Connal added four goals and Jordyn Hamilton added two goals and three assists for the Astros, that face No. 3 Concord in the semifinals on Saturday at Southern New Hampshire University.

Two streaks end

Salem snapped a six-game losing streak, breaking Manchester Central's three-game winning skein in the process, winning 13-9 in overtime. Jess Curley, Tayllar Righini (three goals), Lauren Burnett and Jersey Burns (two goals) scored in the extra session and goalie Alexa Smith (16 saves) shut the door for the Blue Devils. "We've been trying to get good ball transition in midfield and it worked today," said Salem head coach Faith Wahlen.

Lancers go all in

Preparing for a big early season matchup with Pinkerton Friday, Londonderry easily handled Manchester Central, 18-1. All 23 players earned valuable game experience as Dana Boyle and McKenzie Schliecher paced the Lancers offense with four goals apiece.
