Five Pentucket errors led to six unearned runs and a 7-2 loss to Amesbury, eliminating the Sachems from postseason play.  Despite the defeat, pitcher Julianne Meehan was stellar allowing five hits while striking out five and walking no one.

NORTH ANDOVER — For senior standout Candace Waldie and the North Andover softball team, this was definitely a case of "all's well that ends well."

Waldie, an Eagle-Tribune All-Star catcher the last two years and a UMass Amherst recruit, was at shortstop for the first time of her career as the Knights opened their season at home against Amesbury.
