No. 18 Andover saw its season end as it was unable to stop Kayla Austin and the talented offense of No. 2 Winchester, which rolled 3-0 in the first round of the Division 1 North tournament.

The Andover girls soccer team defeated Methuen for the second time this year, but this time it was in the Division 1 North tournament, 3-1.The Golden Warriors, who face Winchester today at Woburn, moved ahead in the first half on goals by Gabby Cappello and Michaela Van Antwerp and added an insurance goal in the second half.

Andover's girls soccer team qualified for the state tournament with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Masconomet. Gabby Cappello scored with five minutes remaining for the Warriors (5-4-9) on an assist from Lauren Pien.

After missing four weeks of action due to shin splints, Rachel Bourque's fine crossing pass to Alex Riddle in the second half yielded the game's lone goal as Central Catholic edged Andover, 1-0. Ironically, Bourque's last game before her injury was against the Golden Warriors, who were led yesterday by shackling defense from Natalie Gibson and Jenn Caro.

Andover struck twice early in the second half to erase an early deficit and tie Masconomet 2-2. Michaela Van Antwerp and Natalie Gibson both scored for the Warriors, whose record goes to 4-5-6 on the season.

Jodi Pollack's goal in the second half allowed Andover to escape Dracut with a 1-1 deadlock. Danielle Landy turned aside six Middie shots for the Golden Warriors (4-2-5).

Natalie Gibson found the upper corner of the net midway through second half, making the difference in Andover's 3-2 triumph over Lowell. Jenn Caro powered the offense with a goal and an assist, Sam Arnold was a force defensively and Maddy Baldwin impressed in the net in just her second varsity appearance for the Golden Warriors (3-2-4).

Jenn Caro's first goal of the season helped lift Andover to a 2-0 victory over Methuen. Jody Pollack also found the mark for the Golden Warriors (2-2-4) while freshman Olivia Biles and Maddy Baldwin combined in net for the shutout

A textbook game at both ends of the field could only end up tied as Central Catholic and Andover finished in a well-played 1-1 draw. Nicolette Pelrine scored 15 seconds into the contest for the Raiders (4-1-2) while an aggressive offensive flurry by the Golden Warriors (1-2-3) later in the opening half resulted in an own goal and a tie score.

Senior Danielle Landy came up big on a couple breakaways, preserving a 1-1 tie for Andover vs. Chelmsford. Jodi Pollack scored the goal for the Warriors, who have played to a pair of stalemates in opening week.
