Kara LeFort — the only non-senior in the North Reading lineup, battled for a three-set victory as part of a 4-1 non-league victory over Malden. The sophomore rebounded from an opening set loss at second singles to tie things up, 6-0, only to face a tiebreaker in the deciding set. LeFort dominated the tiebreaker, 7-2, to take the triumph.

Freshman Rachael Downey won her second singles match (7-5, 6-2), and Sarah Dillon won her third singles match (6-2, 6-1) for the Sachems (3-7).

"Sarah Dillon really played consistent," said Sachem coach Laurie Dunnet. "Her win was certainly convincing."

Molly Fargeorge (3-6, 6-2, 14-12) and Allie Murray (6-1, 6-1) won their singles matches, and Teresa and Emily Kaminski (6-2, 6-2) won their doubles match.
