Down 6-5 going into the seventh inning, the Whittier baseball team combined timely hitting and patience at the plate to score two runs to beat Greater Lowell Tech 7-6. Damian Colman led off in the seventh with a double and advanced to third on a Dillon Ryan single. Greater Lowell then walked three straight batters, scoring both Coleman and Allen to give Whitter the win.

Whittier scored the go-ahead run in the top of frame on four straight singles, the last by Steve Surette. With the bases loaded and one out, it seemed like the Cats easily would add another run on a sacrifice fly. But Haverhill appealed that the runner left early so that run and two more runs that scored on an overthrow were negated.
