Owls nab first win

Thanks to a big four-run fifth inning, Timberlane grabbed its first win of the season with a 5-3 victory over Keene. Jessica Zeidler (1 for 4, two RBIs, run) and Chelsea Mattinson (2 for 4, RBI, run) both had RBI singles in the decisive fifth frame. Courtney Marchand set the table from the leadoff spot, going 2 for 3 with two runs scored.

Lancers Roll

Sarah Pierce hit two home runs to lead a potent Londonderry softball attack during a 9-0 win at Keene.  Pierce hit two home runs — a two-run shot and a three-run shot — to pace a 16-hit attack. Emily Kraytenberg went 4 for 4 and pitcher Theresa Zwart went 3 for 3. On the mound, Zwart struck out 12 to earn the win.

Bats keep booming

Salem's softball team continued to hit with authority, banging out 17 hits in a 12-1 win over Keene. Julia Gray and Amanda Vaudreuil were both 3 for 4 and Gray slugged her third homer of the year. Sarah Bracken was 2 for 2 with three RBIs for Salem, 4-1, which has now scored 77 runs in five games. Dominique Heres and Val Bauer, meanwile, combined on a one-hitter, striking out 13.
