Buzzer beater: Martin, Whittier beat Fenway

Danielle Martin sent the home crowd into hysterics with a buzzer-beating layin to lift Whittier Tech over Boston City League power Fenway, 50-48. "They stormed the court," said Cats coach Kevin Bradley. "I'm just so proud. We're a young team, and against Assabet, we found a way to lose. This time, we learned and we found a way to win. Jen Hinds (14 points) stepped in on defense, forcing a turnover to give the Wildcats possession. Christine Medley then beat the pressure with time running out, drove the lane, leaped to shoot but saw Martin alone and delivered the perfect pass. "Right at the buzzer!" exclaimed Bradley. "The ball went through and the horn went off." Martin led Whittier with a game-high 20 points.
