CHELMSFORD – With the Merrimack Valley Conference’s Division 2 Cup up for grabs in its season finale, North Andover clung to a five-point lead in the third quarter.

ANDOVER – Finding cohesion in a sports year like none other can be a difficult endeavor. But in a Covid-shortened campaign, the Andover boys found regularity with winning.

Andover outscored North Andover 20-9 in the first quarter on its way to a 72-48 win. Aidan Cammann led three Warriors (9-0) in double figures with 17 points.

You had to be there to believe it and even if you were there you might not believe it. But North Andover senior Jake Wolinski drained a jaw-dropped 11 3-pointers en route to 35 points in a 77-63 win over Billerica.

NORTH ANDOVER – One year removed from a season in which it failed to score more than 47 points in almost half its games, North Andover reclaimed some offensive swagger Wednesday night.

Central led by just 3 at the half but it was too much Xavier McKenzie (22 points) and freshman Joey Hart (20 points) in a 68-57 win over North Andover. Jake Wolinski (20, 6 3's) and frosh Zach Wolinski combined for 35 points and nine trifectas for the Knights.

Central Catholic's boys won their first game of the season, 67-47 over North Andover. Xavier McKenzie led the way with 19 points while Nate Godin added 15 and freshman Joey Hart chipped in with 14.

Down 15-3 after 3 minutes, North Andover looked in deep trouble. But Jake Wolinski was stellar defensively on Tewksbury's star and the Knights rallied bigtime for the 54-44 win in their opener. Wolinski and Matt Kutz each had 15 points while Jake O'Connell had eight rebounds.
