Haverhill's Matt O'Brien scored two goals for Malden Catholic in a 4-1 win over Central Catholic.

SALEM, N.H. — Stephen Ingram could feel the game shift the second the puck found the back of the net.

With Andover trailing archrival Central Catholic by two goals midway through the second period — and the Golden Warriors in desperate need of a spark — Ingram delivered that jolt.

Kyle Melo scored two goals and six teammates scored one goal each as Central Catholic rolled past Acton-Boxboro 8-2.

Trailing Westford 4-1 early in the third, the Central Catholic boys hockey team got a goal from Robert DiBiasio early in the period, then pulled to within one  with six minutes left when Michael Dinges finished a nice feed off a 2-on-1 rush. But, Westford scored with three minutes left, then added an empty-netter to take the 6-3 win. 

Central Catholic's hockey team bounced back in a big way after being shut out for the first time all year in its last game, ripping Concord-Carlisle 9-1. Mike Dinges had a hat trick for the Raiders (7-3-1) and Jake Doucette scored twice.

James Doucette scored twice and added an assist to lead the Central Catholic boys hockey team to a 3-0 win over Waltham. After scoring one goal all of last year, the senior forward has taken his game to another level.

After dropping one to Austin Prep on Thursday, the Central Catholic boys hockey team rebounded with a 2-0 win over a Hingham team that came into the game ranked No. 5 in EMass by the Boston Globe. Michael Brothers had 21 saves to pitch his third shutout of the season.

Michael Brothers made 31 saves to lead Central Catholic to a 2-1 victory over Pope Francis in the Pete Frates Invitational. Michael Dinges and Matt Lajoie each scored a goal for the Raiders, who will next face BC High in the Frates championship game on Saturday (2 p.m.)

Despite two goals from Andrew Flammia, Central Catholic (3-0-1) settled for a 4-4 tie with Westford. Goalie Michael Abdoo had 26 saves to help preserve the deadlock.

Michael Dinges scored the game's lone goal in the second period and Michael Brothers stopped all 24 shots he faced for his second shutout in three games, as Central Catholic remained undefeated with a 1-0 win over Billerica.
