Central breezes past Andover

Xavier McKenzie scored 20 of his game-high 23 in the first half as Central Catholic won the White Division consolation game in the Christmas Classic 64-48 over Andover.

The Raiders had 13 three-pointers, including six from McKenzie, compared to only 10 two-point field goals. After scoring 26 points in the second quarter, Central led at half 42-21. Seven different Raiders scored at least six points.

Andover loses late lead, drops heartbreaker to Londonderry

METHUEN — A frustrated Dave Fazio wasn’t mincing words following a discouraging loss on Friday.

“We just weren’t ready to play,” said the Andover High head coach. “And this is what happens in the Christmas Tournament on a Friday afternoon at 3:30. If you aren’t ready to play, you go home with a loss. And a lot of that is on me.”

Rocker, Andover roll

Kyle Rocker scored a game-high 24 points to earn tourney MVP honors as Andover beat Sutton 85-68 in the Bishop Reilly Tournament championship game at Becker College. Richie Shahtanian added 15 points and Aidan Cammann scored 13 points and was named a tourney All-Star.

Cammann's block party

Andover's Aidan Cammann threw a block party Friday night, and the St. Peter Marian basketball team was invited. The 6-foot-6 sophomore finished with 18 points and a whopping 11 blocks to lead the Warriors to a dominant 73-41 season-opening win.
