Owls ousted

Everything started out swimingly for Timberlane volleyball in its playoff opener against No. 7 Portsmouth. The Owls won the first set, 25-17, but lost steam and fell in the next three (25-8, 25-7, 25-8) to loss 3-1. The Owls end their season 10-9.

Griffin steps up

The Timberlane volleyball team looked Abby Griffin's way offensively and the senior was up for the task. She delivered eight kills to help the Owls take down Windham 3-1. Senior Ellie Schott also played well with a team high 27 assists, 18 service points and 8 aces.

Lauren Mezquita boosted Timberlane's volleyball team back to .500 (6-6) with a 3-1 win over Merrimack. She led the Owls with 13 kills, 9 aces and 22 digs. Erin Matthews had three blocks and 21 service points.

Best in years

Coach Sean Hogan called it our best win in "several years." Timberlane rallied from down 2-1 for the 3-2 win over Exeter, which came in three games ahead of the Owls in the standings. Lauren Mezquita had 33 digs and Ellie Schott added 28 assists and three blocks.

Owls stay calm

Timberlane volleyball's early 2-0 match lead vanish in a blink after Londonderry won the next two games. But the Owls stayed calm, and thanks in part to a 17-kill, 10-dig game from Lauren Mezquita were able to pull out the 15-11 Game 5 win to take home the match. Ellie Schott was on fire from the service line with 9 kills, and she also added 23 assists.
