Central Catholic girls cross country may have lost to Dracut, but Stephanie Metayer continues to shine. The senior took first overall for the fourth consecutive meet, running an 18:50 over the 2.85-mile course. The Raiders (5-2) did beat Lawrence 16-47.

Matayer's personal best not enough

Central Catholic senior Stephanie Matayer finished first on the Raiders’ home course, running a career-best 20:28 for 3.1 miles, but Billerica prevailed with a season-opening 22-36 victory. For the Raiders, Allie Hillner and Christine Schaffer finished sixth and seventh and Beverly Wang was 10th.
