DURHAM, N.H. – With a tad more than a half minute left in Wednesday’s state semifinal, the Salem coaches gathered for a group hug.

Ben Laycock had a monster game with 12 points, 15 rebounds and 7 blocks to lead Salem to a comfortable 61-41 win over Bedford.

Trailing 21-14 at the half, Salem kicked it up a notch in the second half to take a big win over Londonderry, 51-45. Kyle Poulin scored a team-high 14 points while Ben Laycock had 11, Trevor DeMinico 10 and Zack Caraballo nine. The Blue Devils (17-3, 15-2) won without making a single 3-pointer. Londonderry fell to 12-4 in Division 1.

Kyle Poulin had a team-high 24 points and Trevor DeMinico had 20 on four 3s as Salem raced past Manchester Central, 80-70. The win moves the Blue Devils to 15-3 overall.

Zack Caraballo sanke six 3-pointers and had 22 points and Kyle Poulin added 17 points with a pair of 3-pointers as Salem overwhelmed Concord, 69-44, to improve to 14-3.

Salem held off Goffstown, 47-44. Trevor DeMinico 16 points, Kyle Poulin 13 and Zach Caraballo 12 cracked double figures in the win.

Salem had an easy time of it with Timberlane, 68-38, improving to 10-1 in Division 1. Zach Caraballo (15), Jared Burns (11), Michael Ference (11) and Kyle Poulin (11) paced the Blue Devils. Bob Olson had nine for the hosts.

The Salem boys basketball team dug in on defense and handed Winnacunnet its first lost of the season in a smother 41-35 effort. Zack Caraballo led the way for the Blue Devils (11-2, 9-1 NH) with 17 points and Ben Laycock added 8.

Kyle Poulin pumped in 14 points and Salem played air-tight defense in 47-26 win over Memorial. Ben Laycock added nine points.
