Amesbury qualifies

The Amesbury girls soccer team punched its ticket to the state tournament in admittedly anticlimatic fashion on Monday, playing Pentucket to a 0-0 tie to improve to 8-3-2 on the season. Alli Napoli made seven saves to record the shutout, and Pentucket (7-4-3) is now also one win away from qualifying for the postseason as well.

Make a wish

McKenna Hallinan scored a goal assisted by Chelsea Lynch to lead Amesbury girls soccer past Rockport 1-0 on Friday night. It wasn't just a win on the field, as the two programs also combined to raise $1,400 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation as part of the joint fundraiser.

Campbell steps up

Amesbury freshman Julia Campbell came up huge for the Indians, playing in net in place of usual starter Alli Napoli (out with a minor injury) and making six saves to help her team tie Newburyport 1-1. Alyssa Pettet scored the team's lone goal, while Newburyport tied the game in the second half courtesy of River Sava.

The Amesbury girls soccer team suffered its first defeat of the season, falling to unbeaten Masconomet 3-0. The Indians are now 3-1 overall and will face Ipswich on Friday.

Amesbury girls soccer improved to 2-0 on the year, picking up a 2-0 win over Manchester Essex while getting two goals from Chelsea Lynch and two assists from freshman McKenna Hallinan. Alli Napoli made 11 saves to pick up her second shutout of the year.
