Sam Hovan tallied 30 kills, 21 service points and 18 digs to help No. 1 Timberlane earn a chance to defend its state title with a 3-2 victory over No. 3 Windham in the state semifinals.

Senior Connor Ross contributed a team-high 13 service points and 15 digs, and Sam Hovan led the way with 23 kills as top-seeded Timberlane swept Mascenic, 3-0, in the quarterfinals. The Owls will play No. 4 Windham in the state semis on Thursday at 7 p.m. from Nashua North High.

All eight seniors had multiple kills as Timberlane dumped Souhegan on Senior Night. The Great 8 senior were: Fari Zhou, Matt Perry, Niko Kakouris, Mike Makarian, Dylan Monteiro, Connor Ross, Al Barney and Sam Hovan. 

Matt Perry scored 16 service points and 42 assists and Sam Hovan had 27 kills as Timberlane beat Pinkerton 3-0 in the a battle of top New Hampshire teams. THe Owls improved to 13-1 while the Astros fell to 13-3.

Sophomore Matt Barney had the best game of his career to help Timberlane's volleyball team (12-1) hold off gritty Windham, 3-1. He had 15 kills and a team-high 12 service points to back up the net play of Sam Hovan (21 kills). Matt Perry had an astounding 62 assists, which is believed to be a school record.

Despite a career-high 32 kills and six blocks by Sam Hovan and a career-high 50 assists by Matt Perry, Timberlane's volleyball team dropped its first match of the season, 3-2 to Hollis-Brookline.

Sam Hovan had 20 kills, Matt Perry 20 assists and Niko Kakouris 14 service points as Timberlane remained unbeaten (11-0), blanking Londonderry.

Timberlane volleyball had 11 players with at least two or more kills, led by Matt Barney's five, in a 3-1 match win over Winnacunnet. The Owls improved to 10-0.

With some hitters having off nights, Sam Hovan put Timberlane on his back with a team-high 24 kills and three blocks as the Owls pulled out a 3-1 battle over Salem.

Going against Salem, a consensus top team in the state, defending champion Timberlane volleyball showed they're still the top dogs with a 3-0 sweep. Sam Hovan had 14 kills and two blocks in the win, and Matt Perry had 28 assists.
