Amesbury Indians Girls Indoor Track '17-'18

Amesbury has great day at Coaches Invitational

The Amesbury girls track team was one of the standouts at Saturday's State Small Schools Coaches Invitational. The 4x200 relay team of Schuyler Snay, Chelsea Lynch, Brooke Taylor and Caroline Schissel ran a school record 1:48.19 to place second behind Pentucket (Meghan Cowl, Belle Smith, Kaley Enright and Saige Tudisco, also a school record at 1:48.04), and Michaela Halloran ran a school record 3:08.88 to place fifth in the 1,000-meter run. Snay and Schissel also placed second and third respectively in the 55-meter dash and Madison Morris placed fourth in the 55 hurdles and eighth in the long jump. For the boys, Drew Everett placed sixth in the mile.

Amesbury wins Division 5 relays

The Amesbury girls track team won the Division 5 State Relay championship for the first time in school history, taking first of 28 teams with 51 points. Among the highlights, the 4x50, 4x200, shuttle hurdles and long jump teams all took first, with the sprint medley team taking third.

Indians stay unbeaten

The Amesbury girls track team stayed unbeaten on Wednesday, blowing past Hamilton-Wenham 63-23. Chelsea Lynch took first in the 1,000-meter run and the shot put, and the Indians took first place in every event except the mile.

Lynch wins two

Chelsea Lynch took first in the 600 (1:48.1) and shot put (25-10) to lead the Amesbury girls track team to a 54-31 win over Lynnfield on Wednesday night. Schuyler Snay, Madison Morris, Caroline Schissel and Madison McGrath also took home first place finishes in the win.

Lynch takes two

Amesbury's Chelsea Lynch took home three first place finishes as the girls indoor track team beat Manchester Essex 58-27 on Saturday. Lynch won the 600 (1:51) and the shot put (24-5) and also anchored the 4x400 relay team (4:30), which also featured Caroline Schissel, Brooke Taylor and Schuyler Snay.
