Brian Clevesy scored the lone goal for Pentucket (3-4-2) on a penalty kick with five minutes left. Joe Casey made seven saves for the Sachems.
"We now know we can play with any team in the state," Pentucket coach Christian Langlois said. "We had a lot of shots on goal and a couple plays where we built the ball up nicely and couldn't get a shot off."

The Hornets (1-2-4) hung with powerful Masconomet (8-0-0) before the Chieftains scored a goal late in the first half. Masconomet added three more goals in the second half but Manchester Essex played well against such a formidable opponent. Senior captain and center midfielder Peter Gudonis, junior goalie Matt Graves and sophomore forward John Houston stood out in the loss.
