Andover surprised Lowell 5-2 behind Ashley Cocciaro's 5- hitter. Callie Wiley had a solo home run and Meg Hartnett added a two-run homer. Alexa Pacy had two hits and scored twice.

Haverhill rallies

Trailing by two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Jadynne Hill singled home one run, then came around to score with Andrea Albano on a Madison Boucher single to give Haverhill a 4-3 walkoff victory over Andover, qualifying the Hillies for the tournament.

Raiders qualify


Central Catholic quaified for the state tournament with a 12-3 victory over Andover. Winning pitcher Niamh Walker got the win for the Warriors (10-6) and helped her own cause with two hits and three RBIs.

Kayla Allbee had a two-run triple and scored the winning run on a single by Sam Ferraro in the bottom of the seventh after Coralie Mathieu hit a two-run homer in the sixth as Methuen rallied for a wild 9-8 win over Andover.

Andover loses in 11

Andover and Billerica softball went the distance and then some, with Billerica eventually getting a 2-1 win in 11 innings. Kathleen Hartnett was sensational in defeat, pitching all 11 innings while striking out 16, and she also went 4 for 5 at the plate while the rest of the team combined to go 3 for 33 otherwise. Meg Hartnett drove in Andover's lone run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
