No. 4 Winchester won the final two games (25-22, 16-14) to beat No. 13 Central Catholic, 3-2, in opeinng round volleyball tourney action. Adam Morris had 18 kills and Joseph Terramagra contributed 18 digs and 10 service points for the Raiders.

Bruce Waters contributed 16 digs to help Andover to a 3-0 sweep of Central Catholic. The 19-1 MVC champs also got a big game from David Lee (11 service points).

Behind 13 kills from Josh Wojtas and 28 digs from Jeremy DeRoche, Haverhill had no issues sweeping Central Catholic on the road. Cooper Gibbs had 32 assists in the win, and Declan Davis got up to make three blocks for the hungry Hillies.

Greater Lawrence gave Central Catholic a battle in every game but ultimately fell to the Raiders in three games to suffer its first defeat of the season. Adam Morris led a balanced attack for Central with nine kills and three blocks while Ray Rivera had 12 kills for the Reggies (7-1).

Trailing two games to none, the Central Catholic boys volleyball team roared back with three straight wins to beat St. John's Prep 3-2. Adam Morris led the Raiders with 13 kills, and Eric Roderick had 14 assists and 23 service points.
