Andover Golden Warriors Girls Ice Hockey '16-'17

Major upset

Despite only getting 10 shots on goal, the Andover girls hockey team got two goals from Emily Wagner and another from Allie Wright to upset Reading (16-3-1), the No. 4 team in Eastern Mass Division 1, 3-2. Sean D'Urso made 20 saves for the Warriors (8-10-2), who finished their season with a statement win.

Sean D'Urso's brilliant save with five seconds left secured Andover girls hockey's 2-1 win over Winthrop. Coach Kevin Drew said, "It was an NHL-level save, a side-to-side pad save."

Andover's girls hockey team won its third straight game to start the season, 1-0 over Arlington Catholic. Emma Gilmartin scored in the second period from sophomore Emily Wagner, who played an excellent all-around game.
