Rubber Match

Top-seeded Andover and No. 4 Lexington each held home turf during the team's two regular season matches, but Wednesday's rubber match will be the most important. The Warriors defeated Masconomet 4-1 in the Division 1 North quarterfinals to advance to the semis behind strong performances from Courtney Nash (6-0, 6-1) and Kathleen Buck (6-0, 7-5). The semi-final matchup is scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Andover HS.

Andover revenge

 

 Andover's girls tennis team avenged its only loss, whipping Lexington 4-1. Courtney Nash was flawless at first singles for the Warriots (18-1). Lexington, which did not play two starters, dropped to 17-3.

Andover used a strong doubles performance to defeat Lowell 3-2, and clinch first place in the MVC large division. Helen Zhao and Julia Spagnuolo won their doubles match 6-0, 6-2, while Hannah Kirchmar and Olivia Burns took care of business 6-0, 6-0.
