Happy ending

 

Andover's tough baseball season ended on a high note with a 5-4 win over Everett in 10 innings. The Warriors (8-12) rallied with two outs and no one on base in the seventh and won it in the 10th when Daniel Walsh drove in Jacob Stanley. Josh Gruenberg got the win with five innings of relief, striking out five without giving up an earned run.

Warriors win in extras

Tim Kalantzakos and Alex Ladd each singled home a run and E.J. Perry IV plated another with a sacrifice fly to give Andover the lead in the top of the eighth, and John Marotta came on with the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the bottom of the inning and struck out the final two batters and lock down Andover's 4-3 win over Austin Prep.

Central beats Andover in play at plate

LAWRENCE — After allowing five runs in the top of the first inning, Central Catholic baseball roared back with seven runs in the fourth and before holding on for a thrilling 8-7 win, clinching the win by throwing out the tying run at the plate to end the game.

The late drama began in the top of the seventh when Andover's Zach Marcus struck out but then reached first on a dropped third strike. Marcus moved over to second on a sacrifice bunt and then reached third on a passed ball to Dan Gemmell, putting the tying run on third with one out.

Wallace pitches a gem

Methuen pitcher Jacob Wallace had a stellar outing against Andover, striking out 12 Andover batters in seven innings while only allowing one unearned run in the 3-1 win.

Golden Warriors roll

Jake Lansberry was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored as Andover rolled past Dracut 11-5. Caeden Dillman was outstanding at shortstop for the winners.

Andover jumped on Londonderry early with four quick runs in the first, then held off the Lancers, 5-4 for their third straight win.
E.J. Perry IV started the scoring with a two-run double in the first. Mikey Comeau and Mike Riley added RBI singles in the frame.

Ladd knocks home winner

E.J. Perry IV singled, stole second, took third on a passed ball and scored on a sacrifice fly by Alex Ladd as Andover took a 1-0 win over Chelmsford. Evan Christopulos allowed three hits in a complete-game effort, striking out eight.
