North Andover Scarlet Knights Boys Swimming '15-'16

Turk on top

North Andover's Joseph Turk won a pair of events at the Division 1 Boys State Meet, helping lead St. John's Prep to the championship.
Turk dominated the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle.
Andover High took fourth place overall, led by Eric Shi, who took the title in the 100 breaststroke with a 56.76 clocking. Central Catholic was fifth and featured a pair of state champions in Drew Carbone (100 back) and Will Pannos (100 fly).
Haverhill's top performer was Matt Amedeo, taking 8th overall in the 500 free.

Carbone stands out

 

Drew Carbone took first in the backstroke with a 50.88, was second in the 200 IM (1:53.37) and was also on two placing relays to pace Central to fifth place at the North sectional Sunday. Will Pannos also had a fine day for the Raiders with a second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 100 beaststroke. For Andover, which finished fourth, Eric Shi won the 100 breaststroke in 57.97.

Hillies edge out Knights

Even though North Andover took first in eight of the 12 events, Haverhill swimming was able to capture enough points down the scoresheet to pull out a tight 94-91 win. Matt Amedeo took first in the 200-yard freestyle and helped win the 200 freestyle relay, and Kasey Crawford and Zack Koffman won the diving and 500 freestyle respectively.

Walshes pace Knights

Aidan and Dylan Walsh, along with Frank Zhou, were each double winners for the North Andover swim team and also helped take first in two other relays as the Knights beat Malden Catholic 96-74 on Tuesday.
