Georgetown trailed by seven points with three minutes remaining, but rallied back and Rory Donoghue and Cayla Durkee each hit two free throws in the final seconds to clinch a 42-39 win over Haverhill. Donoghue led the Royals with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Winless no more!

The Lawrence girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Sunday, coming back to beat Haverhill 30-28 in the final minute. The Hillies led 28-27 with about 12 seconds left before sophomore Jasmine Mejia hit a big two-pointer to give Lawrence the lead. The Hillies couldn't convert on its final possession and then sophomore Jaritza Paulino hit a free throw on the ensuing foul to clinch the win.

Hillies stun Andover for first win over Warriors in 12 years

HAVERHILL — Just eight days after smashing a nearly three-year MVC win drought, the Haverhill girls made in two victories in three games with a thrilling 52-50 win over Andover.

According to Eagle-Tribune records, the previous Haverhill girls hoop win over Andover was Feb. 12, 2004.

Hillies break MVC drought

Abbey Battaini had 14 points and Jordyn O'Boyle had 13 to help Haverhill beat Lawrence 55-42 for the Hillies' first MVC win since beating Lawrence in the 2012-13 season finale. Emily Ramos led Lawrence with 16 points.
