Raider Rematch

Central Catholic opened up in the girls soccer tourney with a 4-0 win over Brookline. Grace Quaratiello and Ashley Raphael each had a goal and an assist. In the Division 1 North quarters, the No. 1 Raiders will play No. 4 Lincoln-Sudbury, the team which ousted them last fall.

Powers knotted up

 

The Central Catholic girls soccer team battled Rhode Island power LaSalle Academy to a 0-0 tie. Amanda Fay got seven saves for the shutout for the Raiders (12-0-1) and defenders Sarah Berube, Caroline Sullivan, Nicole Wiggins and Emma White all played well.

Big Central win

In a showdown of unbeaten girls soccer state powers, Central Catholic blanked Concord-Carlisle 1-0. Ashley Raphael took a beautiful through ball from fellow sophomore Elayna Grillakis and scored on the breakaway. Amanda Fay (10 saves) was a wall in net for the 7-0 Raiders. Concord-Carlisle dropped to 8-1. Central is No. 2 and C-C No. 4 in the ESPN statewide poll.

Raiders win with Grace

OK, so goalie Amanda Fay and her Central Catholic girls soccer teammates are human. After 350-plus minutes this season, they finally allowed a goal. That doesn't mean they're not still perfect.
Central finished off Andover, 4-1, to move to 5-0 on the young season as Fay had four saves in the win. Grace Quaratiello scored a pair for the Raiders. Veronica Alois scored the Andover goal.

First goal for Greenblott

Audra Greenblott scored her first career goal for Central Catholic girls soccer as the Raiders pounded Chelmsford 8-0. Elayna Grillakis and Caitlin Regan each had two goals, and Daria Bakhtiari had a goal and an assist.
