Georgetown shut out by Amesbury

Georgetown had no answer for the Amesbury offense early, as the Indians scored three touchdowns on its first three possessions en route to a 27-0 shutout victory. The Indians (1-3) drove 76 yards on 11 plays in just under six minutes on their first drive, capping things off with a 2-yard touchdown by Ryan Foley. Amesbury got the ball back in good field position with a minute left in the first quarter and went 65 yards on four plays for the score. Brandon Doucette busted a big, 31-yard run up the middle to set up 1st-and-goal, and then the senior captain punched in the touchdown from a yard out on the next play to give his team a 14-0 lead. The Indians' defense forced a 3-and-out on the ensuing Georgetown drive and then seven plays later, senior quarterback Adam Incontri scrambled for a 10-yard touchdown on a 4th-and-7 to put Amesbury ahead 21-0. The third scoring drive went for 58 yards thanks to a 32-yard run by senior running back Sam Stockwood. Though Georgetown found itself shut out for the second week in a row, the Royals did get a positive performance out of sophomore running back Mark Mansfield. He finished with 53 yards on 12 carries. Georgetown is at Hamilton-Wenham next Saturday at 1 p.m.
