The North Reading boys soccer team scored early and then survived a penalty-kick showdown Wednesday night to advance to the Division 3 North finals for the first time since 1993 with a 2-1 win overWilmington.

Dan Coveney scored two minutes into the first OT off a Nicky Govostes corner kick and North Reading beat Watertown 1-0. Coveney's blast from 20 yards out was his 14th of the year. Billy Brandano (4 saves) had a finger-tip save he deflected off the crossbar in the second half.

Jake Intorcio scored his team leading 11th and 12th goals of the season to lead North Reading boys soccer to a 7-1 rout over Newburyport.

Dan Coveney and Jack Meaney also scored two goals each while Killian Daly added one.

Jake Intorcio scored his first goal five minutes into the game, then scored his second with five minutes left in the contest as North Reading played Lynnfield to a 2-2 tie.

Killian Daly, Jeff Nathan and Patrick Driscoll all scored their first varsity goals to lead North Reading 5-0 over Amesbury in boys soccer. 

Jake Intorcio scored twice as North Reading beat undefeated Manchester Essex 4-0.
