Haverhill's golf team qualified for the state tournament with a surprisingly easy 16 1/2-3 1/2 victory over Andover. Among the winners for Haverhill (7-4) were co-medalists Sean Bellemore and Alec Steed, both with 36s.

Haverhill junior Sean Bellemore continued his torrid run through the Merrimack Valley Conference, lifting the Hillies over Methuen, 17.5-2.5. Bellemore fired a 34 at Merrimack Golf Club, his fifth straight round of even-par or better.
