Freshman Abby Amato was 3 for 3 and scored three times from the leadoff spot to pace Pinkerton to a 13-0 mercy-rule win over Nashua South. Candace Moore was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Astros, who enter the tournament with an 11-7 record.

 Pinkerton got home runs from Amanda Joncas, Abby Amato, Candace Moore and Rachel Byrd and collected 20 hits in a 16-0 five-inning rout of Memorial. Byrd was 4 for 4 with four RBIs and scored three runs and Moore was 3 for 3 and scored three times for the Astros (9-6).

Londonderry's bats were sizzling yesterday, exploding for 23 hits in a 19-9 victory over rival Pinkerton. Winning pitcher Leah Hunt was 4 for 4 for the Lancers (6-6) with two runs scored and two RBIs and Sam Harris was 2 for 5 with five RBIs.

Pinkerton's surging softball team won its fiourth straight game, 10-1 over Nashua North, as battery mates Natalie Fabrizio and Rachel Byrd combined for four hits, four runs and five RBIs.

Natalie Fabrizio and Pinkerton's softball team remained on a roll, winning its third straight, 10-3 over Bedford. Fabrizio went the distance, allowing just four hits while striking out nine and was also 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Candace Moore was also 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs for the Astros (7-4) and Rachel Byrd was 3 for 4 with three runs scored.

Winning pitcher Natalie Fabrizio had a double and home run among her three hits and drove in four runs as Pinkerton clipped Londonderry 10-6. Freshman Abby Amato was 3 for 4 and scored twice for the Astros while Shannon Crowley was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Lancers. 

Pinkerton's Natalie Fabrizio stole the spotlight from highly regarded Manchester Central pitcher Sarah Lavallee in an 11-2 victory. Fabrizio went the distance, striking out nine, while the Astros (5-4) chased Lavallee in the third. Fabrizio also hit a home run as did freshman Abby Amato, who was 4 for 4 on the day and scored three runs.

DERRY —There's something new and something old about this year's Salem softball team.

As in the past, the Blue Devils are among the elite teams in New Hampshire. In fact, after yesterday's 18-2 romp over Pinkerton, they're currently the only unbeaten Division 1 team with a 7-0 record.

Pinkerton battled perennial softball power Concord all the way before falling 8-4 in 13 innings. Rachel Byrd had three hits and two RBIs in a losing cause and Kelsey Weston smacked a home run. The two teams combined for 31 hits.

Pinkerton spotted Exeter a 3-0 lead in the first then showed its grit in rallying for a 5-3 win.Lauren Phillips, Abby Amato and Kinsey Manchester each drove in runs in the sixth as Pinkerton erased the deficit for good.
